God brings people into your life with a purpose, and God removes people from your life for a purpose. It doesn’t make it hurt any less, but I think that’s okay because the thing about pain and suffering is it’s meant to be a time for us to listen and learn from the Lord.
That is if we as individuals are following God. There are some good hard lessons that we can ONLY learn during the seasons of pain and suffering.
As Christians, it doesn’t mean we have to like it, but we do have to trust it. Some of the BEST lessons I learned as a kid came from the discipline of my parents. Of course, as a kid, you think you’re so mistreated and you hate the consequences that come with doing wrong. However, if my parents hadn’t disciplined me I would’ve NEVER learned right from wrong. Now at the time, I swore there was no way the consequences would help me in any way and I was sure that my parents just enjoyed disciplining me. Pathetic, right?!? But looking back now, years later I can see they did what was BEST for me, even though I didn’t like it. It’s the same with God, he knows what’s best for us even when we can’t understand it at the time, however, years later we will connect the dots and have that light bulb moment of “ah, I see what you did there Lord” Wow!
So I felt like this is what the Lord gave me to share, in case someone else is in a season of suffering or pain of any kind. Especially when God removes someone from your life, because it is extremely painful but we have to remember in our hearts that HE knows what’s best for us and we have to trust that. There’s a purpose for your pain and one day you’ll be able to look back and see all the puzzle pieces that he put together to restore you.
Romans 5 3-5 says:
“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”
Then in 1 Peter 5:10, it says:
“After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you”
Ohhhh, thank you Jesus for this word you’ve given me and I pray that sharing it’ll reassure someone who is in pain and suffering that you have a purpose for it as you know what’s best for us, so we trust you, Lord. Even though we may not understand it, we trust you and your purpose in our lives. In Jesus's name, I pray AMEN!
